First off: change of plans! We're going to Paris instead of Rome because Rome would be nearly 100 in July and us girl's are not up for that kind of heat. So bonjour!
It seems that nine weeks of hard core high school is worth it when it comes to the ten days of bliss, Spring Break. While dad and Sarah made their way down South to see Duke, UVA, and William and Mary, I decided to spend my short break back home with mom and Hannah.
The first weekend was spent downtown at the Peninsula with my momma. I have to say, those rich folk have it good! Lavish gummy bears and gooey chocolate cookies (all free for the birthday!) made the weekend a success! And, a little retail therapy at Bloomingdales couldn't have hurt...
Sunday was slightly more low key. A nice lunch with the grandparents and the victory of Duke over Baylor helped make the weekend wonderful. Oh, and girls' night at Carolyn's to bring in Maggie's 15th topped it off.
Monday was full or cooking brisket and fluffing up some matzo balls. While the attempt to skip bread for eight days was a sure fail, the Passover seder was lovely as always. Too bad Mariel found the Afikomen, not me. Beginner's luck?
Back downtown on Tuesday. The long shopping day with Carolyn and Mariel was a great way to spend some quality time, and spend the rest of the money I'd scrapped together for SB. Then, Mariel was off to New York!
I spent Wednesday shooting hoops in the backyard (no, I'm not kidding) with Hannah and walking Charlie all around town. The record-high heat was amazing!! And after too much time downtown and running around OP, I loved finally having a day to relax at home.
Thursday was spent with Maggie and Hannah. It was nice catching up with the both of them, who I generally don't see during the crazy weeks of school.
Friday was also spent with Hannah, we baked a cake for Jessie's B-day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!! Then, mom and I attempted to shop in OP, but just ended up eating pasta and enjoying the last day of 80's. Now Sarah and Jess are both home, so there will be plenty of people to talk to around the house and on the phone. One more weekend of SB, and then fourth quarter! Hopefully, I'll write again before the month's up... you never know with me.
